About Joanna...

Hi, I'm Joanna and I'm from a tiny town in Missouri, near Kansas City, in the United States. I live in the country. My town is surrounded by woods and farmland - it's very peaceful here. I live here with my husband, son and 4 cats.

My favorite part of postcrossing is choosing and sending out the right card for the person I'm writing to. I would love to receive any kind of postcard, really. I love surprises and I love getting mail.

But if you're like me and you like to pick out the perfect card, here's something to work with:

I like:

-cards showing something about the area you live in --

-cities, landscapes, sports arenas, traditions,
religious culture, people, leaders, museums,
tourist destinations, local food or drink.
I want to learn more about the world!

-gardening, flowers, nature
-cats
-birds
-holidays
-the beach/ocean/sea life
-snow
-paranormal/mysterious things (I would <3 a Loch Ness card from Scotland.)
-jewels/gemstones/sparkly things
-Peanuts (Charlie Brown)
-Sci/Fi (Star Trek mainly...)
-The BBC show Sherlock
-funny/unusual cards
-religious cards (I'm not religious, but I think religious beliefs are fascinating.)
-recipe cards
-UNESCO world heritage sites
-baseball/baseball stadiums - It would be neat to collect a card from every Major League stadium.
*Japanese Postcrossers - I would love a postcard showing something about Japanese baseball!*
-anything you are passionate about (Tell me about it!)

But even more than the picture on the front, I'm interested in what's written on the back! I would love to get a written message from you about life in your part of the world, or how your day is going, or anything at all.

If you like to send your cards with notes and tuck ins, that's great! If you like to send them stamped and written out the traditional way, that's great too! It really doesn't matter to me, either way. I'm just interested in getting your card and a message from you.

My favorites list might not be the best way to choose a card for me because I include some cards I've already received on that list. Collecting specific postcards isn't really a goal for me - I'm more interested in making contact with people.

No ad cards or bi-fold greeting cards, please. And please no erotic cards. That would cause an embarrassing scandal in my small town post office. :)

I can't wait to get your postcard!

****I am also interested in swapping fridge magnets with postcrossers outside of the USA. I'm always looking for penpals, too! Send me a message if you are interested!***
