For the past 11 years I have lived in an old house in a wooded area. It's always so quiet. I like meeting new people, and friends from the city tell me they like visiting my home, especially when the weather allows us to make a bonfire and cook outdoors. The closest town is 3 miles away with a population of less than 2,000. I work in a larger city with 400,000 residents, and it takes 25 minutes to drive to work.

I have worked, in this order, as a local delivery truck driver, an insurance investigator, a mainframe programmer, a house painter, and currently I'm the manager of an entire school district's custodial opeations. How is that for a varied background?

There are many animals in the forest around my house: deer, fox, rabbit, raccoon, opossum, skunk, squirrel, woodchuck, turkey, owl and many song birds. A river is less than 1 mile from my house and another is about 5 miles away, so in the spring and autumn many types of birds migrate through the area. I always enjoy walking through the woods and fields, any time of year regardless of the weather.

Besides hiking I also enjoy gardening. My wife plants heirloom vegetables, but I prefer to plant berries and flowers. I like collecting and restoring vintage fountain pens too. Sometime I buy pens online but usually I find them in the wild at the many antique stores in my area.

We have 3 children living at home. We have 4 cats (Pearl, Cry Baby, Freckles and Sweet Beppy) and about 20 chickens. We hope to get goats this spring.

I wish I could draw and I wish I could play any musical instrument, but all I can do it write. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
