I live in Portland with my boyfriend, a cat, and five ferrets. I moved to Portland 15 years ago, moving here from northern New York. I'm an only child and was raised by my mother in a small town. I studied biology and anthropology as an undergraduate and business administration in graduate school. I love Portland, but miss the snow and autumn leaves of my hometown.

I work as a financial analyst at an academic medical center and am active in my labor union. I enjoy crossword puzzles, collecting vinyl art toys, trying new food carts and vegetarian/vegan restaurants, painting my nails, doing arts & crafts, and copyediting (most of my union work is in this area). I also enjoy reading about current events, atheism, feminism, and politics.

Since I'm very new to Postcrossing, I don't have a large stockpile of postcards yet. I don't really have any specific preferences, other than that I'd rather not receive advertising postcards and, at least initially, would probably prefer cards sent by hand rather than via a service like Touchnote.
