I am a retired journalist from Scottsdale, Arizona. For the last 25 years of my career I worked in media relations at Arizona State University. I love to travel and have been to more than 30 countries. I love to read and have a master's degree in American literature from California State University, Long Beach.

I also like to play my clarinet. I am a member of the Scottsdale Concert Band (www.scottsdaleconcertband.org) and the Clarinet Consort de Cristo. I am married and have one step-son and two step-grandchildren. My husband, Grant, is also a writer.

I have three dogs - all Cotons de Tulear - named Monte and Carlo (brothers) and Huggie. I also have one cat, Spice, a short-haired Persian.

My church, La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church, is the center of my life. I love to receive postcards from people in other countries because I like to learn about people and places -- and because we are all human family together.
