About moonbutterflies...

Hello :-) I live in Washington state, just across the water to the west of Seattle in a small town. I love nature and being out in it brings me great peace. I enjoy the rain and cloudy days the most.

I enjoy journaling, writing and reading many books concurrently. A few of my favorite authors/poets are: Virginia Woolf, Edgar Allan Poe, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Bell Hooks, Anaïs Nin, Sylvia Plath, Octavia Butler, Pablo Neruda, James Joyce, Zora Neale Hurston.

I also love drawing, art journaling, writing & exchanging letters. When I'm not doing any of those things I enjoy binge watching a good tv show or enjoying a film. I tend to love art house, indies, cult classics, and international films the best. A recent film I've watched and loved a lot was "Only Lovers Left Alive". A couple of favorite films are Jamin Winans' "Ink" and "Frame". I also love the film, "Amélie".

I love music and cannot go a day without it. I have a wildly eclectic taste in music and have a love and appreciation of several genres. I love classics from artists such as Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. I love Icelandic music from the likes of Samaris, Sòley and Mammùt. Goth rock and dark atmospheric music are among my favorite genres as well. Some other bands/artists I listen to: The Cure; Alabama Shakes; Ani Difranco; Bat for Lashes ;Cocteau Twins ; Dead Can Dance; Loreena McKennitt; Lush; Portishead; Rose Chronicles; Siouxsie & the Banshees; The Sisters of Mercy; Sophya, Fuel, Kendrick Lamar, etc....As I said, my musical inclinations are all over the place. ;-) I love discovering new music so if you have suggestions please share! :-)

I'm new to postcrossing and look forward to getting into the swing of things here. Seeing as I'm just starting out here, I don't really have any preferences as of yet on what kind of postcards I'd like to receive. I'll be happy with anything. I would love to know your name and what town/city/village you live in though along with a fact or two about where you live and something that interests you for a brief personal touch. If you have a favorite band/musician I'd love to have your suggestion since I love discovering new music, especially from artists outside the U.S..

I'm also interested in meeting new friends via exchanging penpal letters, but with *other females only* so if you are female and want to make a new friend via snail mail letters just send me a message. :-)

Peace & love to all. Happy postcrossing! ~
