I was a social worker for about 15 years. Before that I was an attorney for 15 years. I am retired now. I lived in the middle of Texas for over 40 years. Ten years ago I moved to Williamsburg, VA, which is a very beautiful and historical area not far from the Atlantic Ocean and Jamestown, which was the first permanent English settlement in this country, dating from 1607. I have now moved to Richmond, which is the capital of Virginia. I have a 33 year old daughter who graduated from West Virginia University in visual journalism, lived in Chile for almost 2 years, and now lives in Richmond also. I love to read and I love history. I love animals of all kind. I have cats and a dog. I like to cross stitch and I love to travel to the UK. I love folk and acoustic music and music from different countries. I like to receive all kinds of post cards, no preferences at all, but do particularly appreciate cards depicting historical or cultural aspects of a country. I also really love beautiful interesting postage stamps. I think postcrossing is a wonderful way for people all over the world to know that even though we may be different in many ways, we are very much alike also.
