My name is Melody. I live in rural North Carolina with my husband Steve and our 3 dogs Otto, Ripley, and Nikita. I own a dance studio in Chapel Hill, NC and teach and produce children's dance theater. I also work as a costume designer and love to sew, bead, dye, embroider... basically anything creative catches my fancy.

I like to read... children's books, urban fantasy, science fiction, autobiographies, books on the science of creativity

To listen to music... Pretty much anything from opera & modern classical, to world, punk and rock n roll. Right now my playlist has Flogging Molly, Gregg Allman, Hoven Droven, Warren Zevon and Kurt Nilsen on it. But that is just for today. To write and to garden.

I will make any excuse that I can to travel as I love exploring new places and meeting new people. I think of myself as a creative explorer and see the world as a playground for adventure.

I like to make art and leave it in public places for people to find.

When I read an article on Postcrossing I immediately signed up. I adore getting mail and amaze my non writing friends by sending postcards and letters for no reason other than the joy of writing.
