Dear Postcrossing friends (September 2012): I apologize if I haven't registered a card that you've sent me this summer, but I have been dealing with a terrible family emergency--my dear old father became very ill and died suddenly, and I have fallen behind on my Postcrossing responsibilities. I'm working on getting all cards registered--I ask for your kind patience and forgiveness at this difficult time...

I'm a 41-year-old spinster who lives in a space-age house in the middle of Las Vegas, Nevada. I work as a copyright and trademark attorney. I have been collecting postcards since I was 15 and writing to penfriends all over the world since before then. I love reading both fiction and nonfiction, independent music and cinema, gourmet and international cooking, gardening, travel, my 6 very opinionated rescued cats, and learning everything I can about the world (I've visited, in chronological order, France, Switzerland, England, Jamaica, Singapore, Malta, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Romania, Mexico, Sweden, Bolivia, and Germany). I prefer viewcards, food-cards, or ad-cards (which I really love, unlike a lot of people) to artcards, but I'm happy with anything you choose to send me! (That includes any holiday cards you care to send, but you might want to know that I'm Jewish.) Please tell me something about your place when you write!
