About Lisa...
Hello! My name is Lisa and I am from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was born in Frankfurt, Germany because my father was in the military and I moved a lot when I was younger. Now I am a mother of two daughters (19 and 21) and I have a small havenese named Raleigh. I joined postcrossing so that I may connect with people from all over the world and keep my spirits high.
My favorite postcards show:
-Birthday cards in December
-Something traditional and culture related like markets, clothing, decorations, buildings, religions, festivals, food, people, wildlife, dances, or characters
-Anything that has words in your native language
-Holiday cards during the seasons (my country or yours)
-Cartoon characters or comics speaking in your native language
-Pictorial maps or regular maps
-Anything with dogs (especially a havenese)
-Paintings or drawings in the style of your country
-Transportation maps or road signs
-Historical monuments and popular tourist attractions
-City views or popular landscapes
-Governmental figures (new and old)
But anything is great, if you think I would love something, send it my way!
it would be great if you could please include your first name, date, and country/city of origin. Also, I would love if you start your postcard the way you would in your native language, for example with a "hello" or a "dear"
If you send it in an envelope I would love to receive a newspaper article, a photo, or anything else you find interesting (ex: train ticket, bus token, even a food wrapper!)
Don't know what to write?:
>Something good you tell yourself when you are having a bad day to help you get through it or any sort of life tips. I am going through a rough time so I would love this
>Include the last happy event that happened to you
>If you are an artist or just like to draw, I would love a picture from you or even a handmade card!
>Write one paragraph in your native language and then its translation in English (I love seeing and reading new languages!)
>Include your favorite word, favorite joke, favorite phrase, saying, or idiom, favorite insult, or something weird/cool about your language
>Teach me words, phrases, or specific letters/characters in your native language
>Write me a few words about your favorite things to do in your country/hometown/city/surrounding area so that if I ever visit, I can do the same! Maybe something you wouldn't see in tourist guidebooks, a secret of the city that only locals know about
Thank you for your generosity and time and happy postcrossing!
