About Laura...

Hi!

My name is Laura. I am 29 years old. I lived in Connecticut for most of my life. I moved to Jupiter, Florida in May 2017. I also went to college in Boston for five years and loved every minute of it. My college friends have become part of my family and I am so thankful to have them in my life.

I enjoy arts and crafts. Scrapbooking, card making, beading, and making things with plastic canvas are just some of my favorite craft projects. I also do cake decorating for family parties and events.

I love watching professional men's singles tennis. My favorite player is Rafael Nadal from Spain. I also enjoy watching the New York Yankees. I may have attended college five blocks from Fenway Park (home of the Red Sox), but my favorite team will always be the Yankees. Other than tennis and baseball I do not watch a lot of sports.

I love music. I enjoy going to beach concerts in the summer with my family and checking out other live indoor shows in the fall and winter. My favorite band is a local band out of Connecticut called Barefoot Truth. They classify themselves as a “Roots-Rock-Funky-Folk-Groove Machine”. In 2012, the band entered an undetermined hibernation and played their “farewell tour”. The five guys who make up this upbeat, good vibe spreading band have all gone off to continue music with their side project bands or they have started their own solo projects. They have since come out of hibernation and play a few shows across New England a year. I know that no matter where their music and lives take them they will succeed.

I joined Postcrossing because when my grandma was alive she used to collect postcards. I was very close to my grandma and we would spend a lot of time together. Her hobby of collecting postcards was something she shared with me along with her love of baking (to this day I am the only one in the family who has been able to master her sugar cookie recipe). When she passed away, I was given her postcard collection and it has continued to expand.

I do not have any preference on the style of postcards I receive. On the postcard, feel free to write about anything you want. Tell me about your city/town; share something that happened during your day. Do you love to cook or bake? Why not share a recipe you enjoy. Perhaps you could write about your greatest accomplishment or something that is on your bucket list. I hope this list of ideas helps you figure out what to write.

Thank you for taking the time to send me a postcard!
