About John...
Hi. My name is John and I live north of the city of Bristol in England. I am married to the lovely Stephy who also does Postcrossing.
I have 3 grown up children, and a 10 year old Granddaughter.
I work as a kitchen & bathroom designer & travel all over the south west of England and south Wales, doing this work. I have been working for this company for 36 years!
I enjoy writing in my spare time (I am three years into studying towards a creative writing degree).
I love reading, particularly novels. A few favourites are Stoner by John Williams, Larchfield by Polly Clark, Somewhere in Time by Richard Matheson and Carol by Patricia Highsmith.
TV & films are also one of my favourite pastimes. I have recently enjoyed Stranger Things on Netflix (suggested by my daughter).
Football is a particular passion - I have been supporting my local team Exeter City since the mid-seventies and although I am not from the north east of England I have followed Newcastle United since the mid-seventies also. Formula 1 motor racing is another sport I follow avidly.
I like tattoos, nature, walking and trying to keep myself fit (always a challenge)!
I LOVE music of ALL types. Bruce Springsteen is one of my all time faves & have been to 2 of his concerts in London (Wembley) & Cardiff. I have also seen Coldplay at Wembley which was amazing. The Beatles have always been a favourite band and I love the music of Paul McCartney. My learning to play the guitar is currently on hold due to my studies; I will hopefully have more time to learn the guitar during my retirement!
I like to take holidays on the coast (particularly Cornwall in the far south west of England - hopefully when the sun is shining!
I will be sending very random postcards and will write whatever enters my head at the time and may even be poetic if the words feel right.
I am happy to receive any postcards (I am not fussy)! It is interesting to learn a little of other people's lives from around the world.
If you are interested in a snail mail pen pal give me a shout.
Oh, and I forgot to mention....I love trees and COFFEE! Not necessarily in that order.
Good to meet you.
