About Jorge...

Proud father of three, digital imaginer, costarican.

About me as the recipient.

I really love places and the different ways people see things.

I love almost any kind of music: punk in a daily basis, musicals when heavily stressed at the office, minimal electronic beats when I am soldering, ska when traveling, Classical when driving, Sinatra when I am taking a fancy dinner, folk popular when happy, and so...

I love funny things in life, including movies, books, jokes, puns and graphical humor.

I love drawing but I try to keep it for myself. Shyness, maybe? Nevertheless I've been drawing with people lately.

I LOVE other languages! I try to communicate myself all the time using the native tongue with foreigners. But I have not the skills enough for drawing a longer thread. Go ahead if you want to share any new word with me.

Please keep it clean as possible (neat and kind comments instead of harsh and mean thoughts). But if not, go ahead and be delightfully crazy!!! I'll be happy of reading loco stuff too.

Thanks for writing!

About how I see the local postage service.

Postcards? I will be delighted of sharing from my loot with you. In Costa Rica we have reduced the usage of stamps replacing them with computer printed stickers from the Postage Offices. You have to buy them directly from the Headquarters'. I just bought enough stamps for my next postcards.

In Costa Rica the postcards are usually found at artisan markets or touristic spots. They depict usually landscapes of volcanoes, mountains and the shore, or fauna and flora. Other themes are quite rare to get. The free cards for advertisement are almost nonexistent. Nevertheless in my trips I have collected different kind of cards. If you get one of a different country and you want a costarican (or the other way) I will be delighted of sending another card for you; just send me a message. I've noticed that young designers are printing new themes.

It is quite common the use of PO Box locally. This is basically due the local surface addresses are told as popular tradition using random references of local spots such as stores, parks or business offices. Take for example an fictional "valid" address such as: from the San Jose's Firefighter Station, North Exit 150 meters east, green house with a black fence. My address, for example, takes as reference an Ice Cream Parlor.

It is very traditional and actually works beside the fact that anyone can choose a reference of its own and even it could not be longer there anymore. In Costa Rica a card might be addressed in number of different ways and yet it can reach its destiny.
