About Jack...

Hello, everybody! My name is Jack McGaughey and I am from Eugene, Oregon, USA. I grew up in Eugene and flew across the pond to the UK in 2017, where I studied keyboard performance at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and got my BA (Hons) of Music in 2020. I now live in Cambridge with my fiancé, who is earning a master's degree in Modern and Contemporary English Literature at the University of Cambridge. :)

Here's a little bit more about me: www.jackmcgaughey.com

Feel free to add me on Instagram! @jackmcgaugheymusic

Anything you wish to send me is greatly appreciated. I would love to know something you find interesting about your life, where you live, or what you like to do for fun!

Here's a list of the music I'm into, sort of in chronological order:
-50s rock n roll, boogie-woogie: Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry...

-Rock, blues, 60s-80s: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Wings, Boston, Chicago, Bob Seger, Billy Joel, Elton John, TOTO, Steely Dan...

-Funk, soul: Billy Preston (my hero!), James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, Al Green, Parliament/Funkadelic, Sly & the Family Stone, Ray Charles, Otis Redding...

-Today's pop, jazz etc.: Taylor Swift, Cory Henry, Vulfpeck, Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak (Silk Sonic), Beyoncé...

I love anything vintage keyboard-related: Hammond Organ, Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer 200a, Hohner Clavinet D6, the classics! Old school synths, recording studios, you name it.

Playing the Hammond organ is one of my passions, and I'm really trying to dig into gospel playing, so any gospel music listening recommendations would be much appreciated!

Aside from music, I like to read, mostly books about politics, current events, social science, psychology, economics, and creativity. Just like music, book recommendations are more than welcome.

I look forward to meeting you! :)
