I had lived in California all my life, until moving to Massachusetts almost two years ago. I still love the rain and snow - natives think I am slightly crazy. I didn't realize though until I had left California just how attached I was to the state. Though I didn't think it possible at the time, I really do miss my desert (part of the Mojave)!

Reading is one of my biggest passions, with fantasy being my favorite genre. I am convinced that I will be turning my living room into my own personal library; I love being surrounded by books.

Another interest of mine is video games, which sometimes people find odd, but personally I think aligns closely with my love of reading. I seek games out for the stories, to be transported to another world, much like being engrossed in a book. I play a variety of video games that aren't always story driven, but being caught up in the worlds created and their stories is my favorite aspect of gaming.

If money were a luxury, by far my favorite hobby would be traveling. The world is huge, and I am not content experiencing just the little piece I happen to live in. I spent five weeks in Japan in '08-'09, living in a town called Warabi just outside of Tokyo. It is still one of the best experiences of my life. I also went to Australia in '08, and I am planning a trip to Scotland in 2017.

My goal in joining Postcrossing is to obtain enough postcards to line the halls in my apartment. How cool would it be to have a wall of inspiration for all of the different places I can visit? I am so excited!
