About Jim...

Hello!

I would be delighted to learn more about you and where you live. (And, if you don't mind, what would you recommend to a visitor that would be missed in a tour book)?

Hobbies: amateur radio (WT8P), geocaching, hiking, baking, bicycle touring. Sammamish is a bedroom community east of Seattle. It's quiet and heavily wooded with access to a lot of great trails.

If you're visiting Seattle's Pike Place market:
Take your photo at the "first" Starbucks, then proceed to either Storyville (Corner of Pike & Pike Pl, go upstairs) or La Panier (a delightful French bakery on Stewart). For a quick lunch, get a sandwich and cannoli at DeLaurenti grocery store (1st and Pike). You can dine in (go upstairs) or take it with you on the way to the Olympic Sculpture Park.

East of Seattle, the Issaquah Alps offers a lot of great hiking options. Check out Metro's "Trailhead Direct" seasonal shuttle (https://trailheaddirect.org). Cougar Mountain has the best-developed trails and most overall interesting things. To the east, Squak Mountain State Park (Discover pass may be required for parking) is very nice, not a lot of views beyond because its charter keeps it pristine. Continuing east, Tiger Mountain has more rugged trails the further you get away from I-90. Mt. Si and Mt. Teneriffe offer some potentially longer hikes.

Best regards!
