My name is Janice but everyone calls me Jan. I live in the Northwestern part of America but I have lived in other parts of the country as well. Painting and writing are my passions,but I love reading and I enjoy people in general. I have published two books and I paint every spare moment. I've always wanted to travel and learn about different counties and cultures and I think that would be fascinating. My son took me to Ireland and we had such a fun and lovely trip...even with the rain and gale force winds. I'm traveling to Italy next year My interests are varied but I've always wanted to connect with the world and this seems such a fun way to do just that. I collect friends and I love the rain, oceans, mountains, first snowfall of the winter and cozy fires. There is something about the rain that soothes me. The same is true when I am near the sea. Through the years I've developed a deep appreciation for all sorts of music and I love everything from the Blues to Opera. Literature is the same. I enjoy novels, biographies, Fantasy (as in Lord of the Rings...big fan of Tolkien,) mysteries, romance and thrillers. Some of my favorite movies are: Lord of the Rings, Dr. Zhivago, Out of Africa, The Godfather I,II,III., Titantic, The Last of the Mohicans, Gone with the Wind, The English Patient, Harry Potter, Of Mice and Men, The Old Man and the Sea, Pride and Prejudice and endless others that I don't have room to list. In music I like everything from Elvis, U2, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, Michael Jackson to Pavarotti and musicals like CATS, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked. All types of music, art, movies and books.
