Hi there! I'm Jamie. I'm married with a nine-year-old son and a houseful of cats - we have five of the furry monsters. I am forever covered in cat fur and have long since given up on wearing black clothing. We also have a retired racing greyhound named Mija who is the sweetest (and most stubborn and dramatic!) girl.

I'm a writer and I love to travel, although most of my free time these days is spent on the couch with a book due to the pandemic. I'm currently attempting an "around the world" challenge where I read a book set in each country of the world.

I enjoy lots of different types of music, but I love rock n' roll most of all. David Bowie, Queen, and Pink Floyd are a few of my favorites, but I was a teenager in the 90s so I'm also a big fan of grunge and post-grunge. I wore so. much. flannel.

Truman Capote is my favorite writer, but I'll read just about anything. Douglas Adams and Neil Gaiman are other favorites. Shirley Jackson, too. Memoirs and travelogues are also great. Some of my other interests/obsessions/hobbies/likes include animals, thrift stores, vegetarian food, Ryan Reynolds, Monty Python, learning to play the ukulele upside-down (left-handed), naps, art, museums, avoiding in-person social interactions (I'm 100% an introvert!), rainy weather, and the theater.

Please send me any postcard you'd like. Really, I'm not at all picky. In fact, feel free to send me the ugliest or weirdest card in your stash and maybe let me know how you ended up with it! Or perhaps just send me something you'd be happy to receive, or something related to my interests, or maybe even just a card picked at random from your stash. If you feel like you need some further inspiration, the postcards on my favourites wall might give you some ideas (and are all cards that I haven't received). I do love pretty and/or interesting stamps if you happen to have some to spare, but I'm not a collector.
