I live in south Brazil, province of Rio Grande do Sul, famous for its landmarks, farms and wines. It is an interesting region known as the PAMPAS, ranging from the borders of Argentina and Uruguai, through the entire province. The local culture of the gaucho, the man of the pampas, is a mixed influence of ancient indigenous cultures and european traditions. Very different from other places in Brazil, the very peculiar traditions of Rio Grande do Sul includes drinking the chimarrão, eating the typical barbecue, known as churrasco, and wearing special clothing, bombachas, boots and large hats for festive occasions. Traveling across Rio Grande do Sul, you may find cities of italian or german architeture, even language is different from place to place.
