Hello

My name is Carin and I live next to a lake, a mountain and the sea in Cape Town, South Africa. I spend my days reading and writing stories, learning Spanish and researching South African television history. I love baking, gardening, making things and watching good TV shows - that's when I'm not playing with my son or laughing with my husband. Before I get too old I still want to visit Moomin World in Finland and see Björk live in concert.

I like postcards with beautiful graphic designs, illustrations, posters or paintings. I'm not crazy about typical tourist postcards (you know, wild animals, landscapes, that sort of thing), but I would love cards with Studio Ghibli characters, Moomin, Doctor Who, or vintage children's characters (from books or TV) from your country.

If you don't know what to write, here's an idea I got from another Postcrosser I just sent a postcard to: Tell me 3-5 everyday things that make you happy. Here's mine:

1. Hearing my 2-year-old son's first footsteps of the day.
2. The smell of jasmine.
3. A muffin and a cappuccino for breakfast.
4. Playing piano.
5. Seeing my husband after a long day of work.
