Hi! I wanted to encourage my teenage son to do this but he is a bit too busy ... I'm busy too, but it's nice to receive real mails every now and then ... so here I am.

I LOVE receiving **beautiful** holiday greeting cards (not free ones) and birthday cards!! In an envelope!!! So far I have not received any from postcrossing. :( I had high hopes ...

When I travel I collect post cards to send. so you'll get one from different parts of the US, in addition to my local ones from Ithaca, NY. Ithaca is 4 hours northwest of New York City in green, hilly area at the southern end of one of the glacial lakes called Finger Lakes. It's a very pretty area, a university town with two colleges (Cornell and Ithaca College).

Please write FULLY, LEGIBLY, with tiny letters in FULL SENTENCES on the back of your postcards about yourself, your region/country, your life, and about the picture on the card, etc. I don't enjoy a card that just say "hi! bye!" :)

Also please send me new postcards - not cheap free cards with advertisements or some really old cards that have been sitting in your desk drawer for years and you didn't know what to do with.

The kinds of postcard themes I enjoy:
- beautiful landscape and wildlife - if you visited national or state parks, please do send cards from there to me
- hiking trails you've done
- wildlife
- vegetarian/vegan recipes
- your _LOCAL regional/national/ethnic_ cuisine - fruits - vegetables - plants - recipes (please don't send me a card of random cake!)
- historical cards of YOUR LOCAL REGION/COUNTRY (if US, your local region/state/town/city)
- honey bees
- card showing people and children of your country, region
- astronomy (note, not astrology!)
- anything to do with Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Captain Sisko, Jake, Kira, Odo, Quark, Jadzia, Ezri, Bashir, Worf, Obrien, etc... did I miss anyone?
- birthday cards in an envelope (me: March 1st and my son: February 28) :)
- holiday cards :) the same
- anything you think I may find interesting, stuffed into an envelope
- activist postcards (anti-fracking, anti-GMO, anti-nuclear, anti-fossil fuel, pro-green, pro-renewables).
- gardening card (if there is such a thing) - no pesticides, organic, permacultural only!

I'm a 42 year old mom of a 16 year old boy who is attending a local public high school. I grow vegetables a community garden in our apartment complex. I'm sort of an environmentalist. I worry about the future of the planet. I like watching history, political and environmental documentary films.

I enjoy traveling to US National Parks when time and resources permit.

I'm also a vegetarian trying to move slowly to vegan diet. Any delicious recipes are also welcome! Please share your recipes and maybe I will do so, too!
