I have collected postcards since I was 10 - only 54 years ago!

My favorite views are - history (places, events, monuments); trains and/or railroad depots; airports; advertising (beer, movies, consumer products); maps; street scenes that show a movie theater and especially if marquee is visible and one can read the movie titles.

I enjoy all categories and views so anything you care to send is welcome.

I work in the textile/apparel industry (for 36+ years now). Married, two adult children, son (30) and daughter (34), and joy of my life - my 9 year old grandson, Hunter.

Live in rural area - small town (pop. 2,600). South-central Kentucky. Russell Springs, KY.

I am a weekend warrior. I work in Cincinnati, Ohio for a company. Part of my duties are traveling to our operations around the country. So many weeks I leave home on Sunday evening, fly out Monday morning for the week, arrive back on Friday and drive home Friday evening. Becoming routine as have now been doing for over 13 years. Just short of 200 miles (321 km) from Kentucky home to Ohio job.

Hobbies are reading, watching movies (and I prefer movies from 1970s back to the silents), besides postcards I collect autographs (since 1982), American Civil War history books and related. I also do family genealogy - direct Bell line is from Ireland. My paternal line (Bell) has been in south-central Kentucky since birth there of my grt-grt-grt-grandfather, Joseph Abner Bell, in 1808. Per family lore/stories my Bells arrived in Kentucky ca 1800 coming from state of Virginia.
