About Karin...

Hi to you, dear postcrosser,

How wonderful that you got my address to send your card to. I want to thank you very much for sending it. It is such a pleasure to find a beautiful card in my mailbox.

My name is Karin, I am a 27 year old girl from the Netherlands (Dordrecht). At the moment I do not live there though, after studying at universities in the Netherlands and in England, I have now moved to the USA for my first real job. It´s very exciting, I work as a researcher at Princeton University and at the American National weather service (NOAA).. I study extreme precipitation.

In my US village there is no postal delivery :(. Instead, the local post office holds my post and I have to collect it from them. I hope to receive lots of cards so I won't have to make too many post office runs in vain.

>>> Through postcrossing I would love to see the best of what our planet has to offer. So show off those wonderful places in your country. A picture of some natural highlights would make me very happy. <<<

However, I also love: thunderstorms, science, bright colours, romantic stories, giant oceans, New York´s central park, wild waterfalls, playing the piano, (old) world maps, solving difficult physics problems, orchestras playing classical music, views of the countryside, dark forests, blue skies, rocky coasts, mathematical tricks, windmills, smiling people, silly jokes, lonely lighthouses, discovering new places, mountain ranges, rainy afternoons, sunny winter days, sailing, speed skating, national geographic, faraway stars, the promise of spring, sunrise at sea, departed roads, Harry Potter, pyjama parties, and much more.
So if you find a card with a picture of something like this I would also like it :). Or you could have a look at my wall with favourite cards to get a better idea of the things I like.

But more importantly.. write me about your country, why you picked the card you did, your favourite things, something that made you smile, your hobbies, travelling experiences you have had, a favourite postcrossing memory, or your opinion on the local weather (I'm a meteorologist)!

In the end I just about love everything that makes it to my mailbox. So thanks again for sending me a card, I will let you know as soon as possible when it arrives.

Thank you ^_^.

Goodbye or in Dutch: 'groetjes',
Karin
