About Potjanee...

I'm a thirtysomething who lives in the suburb of Bangkok. I work in publishing, being a translator and editor, so you can see how I love books and all things book-related.

I works mostly at home. One of the reason for that is I do not like travelling, but I would like to see the world though.

In my free (and not very free) time I love reading (mostly mystery/detective and literary novels), surfing the internet, pampering my cat, writing book reviews on my blog (s), finding good restaurants and cafes to hang out with my friends, and practising my (oh-so-low) photography skill. And I'm trying to give more time to enjoy good films and music too.

For the postcards, I love:

- postcard for a cause: e.g. charity card (esp. WWF), recycle-papered card, scrape card from unwanted items, etc. You even reused your misspelled card or write on any postcard-sized cardboard, as long as it's clean and accepted by the post office. :)
- cats and most baby animals (preferably fluffy, but not necessary)
- pictures of ancient or stunning libraries, bookstores, bookshelves
- old European towns. I really, really love cobbled streets!
- medieval castle ruins
- all kinds of works of art
- scenery view of Czech and Prague
- tea and coffee cups/sets
- doors, windows, gates
- scenery with horizon or big bodies of water (especially lakes)
- impressive or famous architecture
- purple and pastel colours
- all things about the Victorian London
- calligraphy, esp. Chinese/kanji brushstrokes
- both auroras
- classical music composers (I love Beethoven), orchestras and scores
- Jazz singers, musicians and bands
- most kind of flowers (but they should be photos)
- leaves in autumn/fall
- countryside with snow
- small streets and ordinary people's lives

Or you can take a peek at my favourites http://www.postcrossing.com/user/dreamreader/gallery/favourites/1 or the favourites of my secondary account http://www.postcrossing.com/user/Clearwater/gallery/favourites to get the idea. (You don't need to send the exactly same card.)

All preferably in single view, please.

However, except pictures of baby humans, esp. those by Anne Geddes, and the Stenvall's ducks (this may seems strange, but I do find them quite scary), you can send me any kind of postcards, mere receiving them makes me happy!

That includes ad/free and self-made postcards, especially when they're beautiful. The creativity of those ad guys usually awestruck and inspiring. And I know some of you can do it better than some professionals!

And last but not least, my username comes from a book by Haruki Murakami, Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. Not any kind of fortune-tellers!
