I'm a journalist, interior designer, artist, and mother.

I enjoy well written, factual journalism, as well as heartfelt stories of real people in amazing situations. Creative writing such as poetry and short stories are nice also. I have worked in newspaper, but currently freelance edit for a magazine.

I am remodeling my first house while working as an interior designer. I love the idea of creating nature indoors and repurposing anything old to have new life. I believe in color, no neutrals in my house.

Most of all I am an artist. I breathe art into whatever I am working on. I see art in places others can't. My kids are encouraged to use art in any way that inspires them. As a hobby I mostly paint with acrylics, but play with other mediums to mix it up.

My oldest son, still in elementary, plays piano and loves Spiderman. My youngest, also in elementary, enjoys anything mechanical- trucks, planes, etc.

We live in a small city in Missouri. We have a family farm a couple of hours away that we enjoy escaping to from time to time. Missouri is mostly rural but I have had the opportunity to travel to many cities in several countries. I enjoy both the city and countryside very much as they provide very different and satisfying experiences.
