One of my greatest passions is learning as deeply as I can about the stories and cultures of others. I consider myself a communitarian, emphasizing that we each belong to each other and to the communities in which we participate. At the same time, I wholly believe that we each can find healing and peace through the experience of belonging first and foremost to ourselves. I am on the long journey of growing deeper roots of personal belonging, of finding "home" within myself.

Other interests of mine include biking, yoga, hiking, journaling, reading, traveling, studying languages, learning to play the fiddle/violin, piano, and clarinet, environmental conscientiousness, neuroscience and psychology, little-known histories and facts, maintaining and growing a diverse taste in music, and experimenting with new recipes.
