About Candis...

My name is Candis and I live in the beautiful sunshine state of Florida.

I've had brain surgery in 2003 and been mostly seizure free since.
I haven’t had a complex parshall seizure since. Both before and after surgery exercise has always helped stop them from happening.

I love to write and have hypergraphia, which is closely related to Epilepsy. The seizures may be gone, but the love for writing is living and thriving in my heart.

I work as a janitor at 4 local Anytime fitness gyms. So I get free food and drinks and a complimentary gym membership.
I also run like a boss. I have done about 40 races so far, from 5k-marathons (26.2 miles). My last 3 marathons took 6 hrs.
If you know of more marathons in Florida, let me know.

I still don't know what I wanna be when I grow up and I'm 34. (I tried traveling and teaching in my early twenties and it wasn’t my thing).
Let's face it, I don't want to grow up. It ain't like I'll ever get kicked out. Plus, I am lucky to have parents with enough money. Thattaway I can save the little money I make. I’m saving for retirement.

I just hit my goal of to send and receive 5,000 postcards. It took ten years of staying on top of this hobby. My next goal is 8,000. I have 100 traveling at any time.

My favorite cards are Maxis (if sent, please be blank and in an envelope).
But this website emailed me and told me not to ask for them and to change the wording of my profile, so here I am.
So I ain’t asking for them, just grateful when I see them.
Greetings from
Multiview cards
Washi taped in some way
Postcard fair cards
Animals of all sorts, but dogs are the best
Old cards
Nonfiction writings on the front of back
Galaxy like images, but not sci fi since it is hella cheesy

But it's okay if you send something else, I'm not gonna be upset if you don't have what I mentioned.

Besides that, I ain't picky about the gifts I receive from strangers.

I'm grateful anyone is taking time to write to me. We all may be strangers but appreciating writing with our hands (by writing or coloring cards) instead of the computer has always been an art I love the most. It's like there's more brain connection in holding a pen than typing or staring at a cell phone. Although I type and print most of my cards due to carpal tunnel.

Please tell me some history of your life or home or genealogy. I'll start with mine. I'm from the Tampa area of Florida. My family has been in this country (North Carolina) for 400 years. My home state is where the Americas were discovered. Florida was originally pronounced, "la floor ee dah," but somewhere since 1492, we got to saying, "floor duh," It means "land of the flowers," in Spanish.

Even if you come from a country that's supposedly an enemy, it doesn't matter. You're worth hearing from.

If you want to send me cards in an envelope, I would appreciate that because then I get bonus cards that I can use for others later.
