About Mel...
I live at the southern tip of Maine, in the US, with my husband, two cats, and two French bulldogs, though I'm working in the Middle East currently and not home as much as I'd like. I'm a veterinarian by profession, an amateur photographer, a lover of eclectic music and traditional textile arts.
I am a gay man and a Buddhist. I speak English and Spanish, some French, a smattering of German and the Nordic languages, and I'm trying to learn Arabic. I love to travel, particularly to colder, remoter parts of the world, and love to learn about other people. I feel that the more we learn about and try to understand each other, the more peaceful the world will be.
