Artist and cat lover - I love collecting fountain pens and stamps, making my own snail mail to send to penpals, gardening, fun patterns and bright colors, I am active in several other snail mail communities; if you've seen this username somewhere else, it's definitely me!

I am a former historical archaeologist (with a fair amount of undergrad work in earlier time periods) and if you are a scientist or academic working in anything even remotely related to archaeology (history, botany, mineralogy, earth sciences, museums, etc etc) - please tell me about your work! I did not retire by choice but due to a physical disability, so I love to hear about what people are working on :)

Jan-March 2024 writing prompts:

- When was the first time you saw snow? When was the last time? Did anything memorable happen?
- What song has been stuck in your head recently? (please include a note about where I can find it - YouTube, etc)
- Where was the last place you traveled outside your home city or town? What did you do that day?
- What would be your ideal day? (assume you are very rich!)
- what pens do you do use to write your postcards? do you have any favorite postcarding supplies?
- if all else fails - tell me about your pets! names, ages, what type of animal - even the animals in your garden or city park!

Postcard ideas (in no particular order):

-Kind of a long shot but - I love BTS, and stamps/postcards of them would be the best ever!
-Maxicard/FDC/stamp-related or philately-related

-fall/autumn in your country

-art of any era (artistic nudity is fine! but please nothing you wouldn't send to your mother, haha)

- US friends - I love vintage postcards, and particularly anything New England or Rhode Island themed! (Preferably 1930-1990 - yes, I am old, anything later than that isn't vintage for me because I was there!)
-Series: tabineko, mofu-sand, JETOY, 21st Century Cats, LouPaper

That being said, I will love whatever you send, and am happy for regular "touristy" cards as well! You can check my favorites for some examples of cards I like, but it's just to give you an idea.
I collect stamps of flowers/plants, fruit, cats, archaeology, costumes/fashion, history, cultural festivals, and art. I also collect modern Japanese and Finnish stamps! ESPECIALLY new releases, as they are very hard to come by here, haha.

No preference on envelope vs no envelope. Please do what is easiest and cheapest. If you include extra used stamps and a return address, I will send you back some as well. Just tell me if you want US stamps only, or WW stamps.
