About Kevin...

I am a full time father from the UK whose daughter is now in her second year at school. I started Postcrossing when she started preschool as a way to fill some of my spare time, and also to help her learn about the world. I now no longer have as much spare time, but we're both just as keen to hear from people far and wide.

I love the idea of Post Crossing. My daughter is just as excited as I am everyday when the postman arrives, so I thought it would be a good thing if we actually had something to look forward to instead of a vague hope that something nice would arrive occasionally.

I'm not really doing this with the intention of collecting anything specific, so any postcards are welcome and we'll stick them all in the big scrapbook we're going to buy especially*

Aside from writing letters, I'm also a keen photographer and a collector of old Penguin books, so anything with a photographic or literary feel about it would be most welcome. I also occassionally blog about the books I read and the tea I drink, and you can read that here - http://cupsbooks.blogspot.co.uk/ - should you so desire.**

It's a bit of a sad fact that I've noticed, but nearly 25% of the postcards I've sent so far have never arrived. Oh well, they're out there somewhere...

Thanks for reading,

Kevin.

* - We never did buy a big scrapbook, we have this really cool old wooden box.

** - This blog hasn't been updated in ages. I'm leaving the link, as I think what I did write was worth reading. I'm just shockingly inconsistent. You can check out my photography at http://kevinlowephoto.weebly.com/ if you wish. I update that marginally more often.

*** - My daughter is now in her sixth year at school. The blog got abandoned, the photography got abandoned. The postcards had to stop, as postage costs have got so high. However, I was just reading through some of the postcards we did get back then and we got some really lovely ones. So I decided to make my account active again, and we'll send the occasional card. We'll never be able to send as many as we used to though, which is a shame.
