I am 34 years old single mom and I live in St. Louis, Missouri. I am a very avid knitter and my favorite thing to knit is socks, but I also make lace shawls, mittens, and baby clothes. I am a mother to a 7 year old daughter named Alice. I have been postcrossing since long before my daughter was born, and it has been on hiatus for many years. I decided that I want to share postcrossing with her and teach her about the world. I would love it if you would address the postcard to Alice and tell her something about what it is like for children in your part of the world, or what makes it a special place to live. My daughter already shares my love of travel and I would like for her to know more about all the wonderful places she may visit someday.

I just started a new job teaching English to kids in China via the internet. Each day I get to virtually visit families in China and help their children to learn. It is such an incredible way to connect to people on the other side of the world, who would be complete strangers. Alice has just started to take Mandarin lessons from people in China. There are so many ways we can communicate with strangers. Our world has become so small. The thing I love about this project is that I feel a greater sense of how we are all connected in the world. By trading mail with people around the world, I know that I have made somebody smile who I never would have met otherwise. With your postcard, you will make us smile, and we will connect, even if only for a moment.

My favorite postcards show off something unique about your corner of the world. I like to learn about the interesting stories, legends, histories, local famous people or landmarks of different areas around the world. Or just send me a postcard that shows something that you like the best.
