About Barb...

Hello!I am a 6th grade Social Studies teacher and my students and I look forward to identifying countries around the world that we will receive post cards from. We are excited to receive post cards from around the world, learn about your country and identify where you live.

We live on the western side of Washington state which is extremely different than the eastern half of the state. Western Washington has many evergreen trees, mountains, waterfalls, even a volcano....it is just full of outstanding nature which is amazing! We definitely get a lot of rain in the fall, winter, and spring. That is why it stays so green here all year round.

Eastern Washington is the exact opposite with a very dry climate and almost desert-like conditions. It is extremely flat and there are tumbleweeds, large orchards and farms. Eastern Washington is famous for its apples and cherries. Both sides of our state are a wonderful contrast which makes it a beautiful state to live in.

My students and I look forward to hearing from you and a bit about the city/country that you live in. We enjoy postcards that show the scenery of your country as well as hand painted post cards. We're looking forward to mark where the received postcards are from on our classroom map and to proudly display your postcard in our classroom! Thank you and Happy Postcrossing!
