About Austėja...

Hello! My name is Austėja (the Lithuanian goddess of bees). I am a costume designer for film and theatre based in London. My essential hobbies are photography and illustration as well as writing my surreal dreams down and chasing the full moon while sitting by the sea. Always trying to find something new to see and somewhere new to go. I love sending and receiving postcards as much as paper letters, so postcrossing is one of the most pleasant things that I have found!

I always do my best to get to know the person and choose the most suitable postcard - I assume that's one of the beauties of this project:) I have only one request - please NO typical touristic cards/banal landscapes, ads, free and folded cards. The unusual charms me:)

Here are the types of postcards that I really adore:

- illustration and animation

special requests:

SWEDEN - characters from Astrid Lindgren children books
FINLAND - Kaj Stenvall ducks collection, Inge Look illustrations, Moomins by Tove Janson
ESTONIA - Navitrolla collection
GERMANY - Hundertwasser
NETHERLANDS - Jip and Janneke
RUSSIA - old Russian animations
JAPAN - Miyazaki animations
ITALY - colourful architecture, Venice carnival

- arts (surreal, postmodern, paintings, drawings, calligraphy, work of the artists from your country);
- Salvadore Dali, Pink Floyd, Wes Anderson and Alice in Wonderland surreal arthouse theme;
- theatre and fairytales (costumes, puppets, masks, carnivals, circus, carousels, scenography, dance, fairytale creatures);
- old-towns, narrow streets, cafes, roofs, markets, people caught in city life, children, old people, hippies' life;
- coffee, tea, mugs, books, bottles, wine, beer;
- vinyls, gramophones, typewriters, bicycles, old cameras;
- wild and pure nature, sea, dunes, moon, mountains, forests, berries, people caught in the nature life, Indians, wild animals, unusual birds and fish, owls, bees;
- mythological creatures, your national costumes, ornaments, interesting instruments;
- old, unusual, bizarre.

Taking a look at my gallery of favs would help a lot:)

Write about yourself! It could be the movie of your life, some words in your language, your favourite quotation, the meaning of your name, a dream you had last night, a unique place that you love, the weirdest thing that ever happened to you, anything! - be surprising, don't write just "hi":) Also I really appreciate your stamps!

Thanks a million for brightening up the days for me and my mailbox!

Happy happy postcrossing!:)))
