Hello! My name is Angela, and I live in Rockford, IL, USA.

I love learning about the world and other cultures and places!

Some of my hobbies are:
- reading (mostly autobiographies, biographies, memoirs, but some fiction - I love Harry Potter)
- listening to music (I like almost all types, but my favorites are country, alternative, indie, some pop...)
- watching TV (my favorite shows are Criminal Minds, Law and Order: SVU, Big Bang Theory, anything related to home/garden/cooking)
- do-it-yourself activities, arts and crafts, creative projects
- animals (my parents have two dogs, I have two cats, and I love all animals)
- wasting time on Pinterest!

My birthday is in January, so if you send me a postcard in January, it'd be really cool if it was a birthday one!

If you are from a country that primarily speaks a language other than English, I'd love to learn a phrase or two in your native language! If you could include a pronunciation of the phrase, that would be super helpful (although I can Google it if not). I like to learn other languages, and so far I know a phrase or two in quite a few.

As an American, I haven't traveled extensively outside of the USA since it's rather expensive. I have been to Mexico and Canada, of course, and I did get the chance to travel to Germany, France, and Italy when I was in college. Ever since that trip I've been very excited to learn more about Europe. I find Asia fascinating because I had two Japanese foreign exchange students when I was young (one of whom I still keep in touch with!). I find Africa wonderful because my cousin went on a mission trip to Ghana, and I loved looking at her pictures and hearing her stories. I've also met people here in America from Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and Kenya. I've always wanted to go to Australia, so a postcard from there would be really cool. And I have a few friends here in America who either are from or have ancestry in Central/South America, so I would love to hear from those places too (particularly Peru, Colombia, or Argentina). Basically, though, I love learning about the whole world!

If you're not sure what to say to me, just go ahead and tell me anything about where you live, who you are, what people in your country like to do or eat, what you like to do or eat, if you live near anything famous (like the Pyramids or Eiffel Tower or Tokyo Disney...that sort of thing!). And if none of those interest you, then tell me what YOU think is interesting. :)
