I shall not restringe your idea of postcard to send, and being so, I will only list some basic guidelines.

Worse is better: handmade, quirky places, et cetera, is better than untouched tourist postcards.

From ancient history to science fiction: anything from anytime works, as long as you like it.

Local culture: your place (by birth, heart or current location) probably contains stuff you like that are somewhat rare elsewhere.

Having said that, send what you love, not what you think I would appreciate.
