hey I'm Garrett,

I'm happy to have been a part of Postcrossing for over fifteen years now, my love for beautiful images, connecting with others around the world, and collecting things have kept me going and have kept me passionate about sending and receiving postcards.

I'm in love with movies and the art of cinema . the most profound journey that I have embarked on has been exploring all the great classic and modern films from the great film directors around the world, they have shaped my memories and dreams. it is as if I've lived many lifetimes, and have many more yet to experience. some of my favorite directors are john ford, wes anderson, eric rohmer, yasujiro ozu, alfred hitchcock, stanley kubrick, jacques tati, ernst lubitsch, vincente minnelli, fritz lang, amongst others.

there are many other things I love such as writing, reading, traveling, listening to music, being near the water, trains, cherries, most things that are old and in the past and I'm an avid Wisconsin sports fan.

I'm very much looking forward to your postcards, I love to read your messages on the back. I'm always looking for a great story or inspiration, share with me whatever your heart desires, I also like to know your dreams, memories, or perhaps you could tell me something to read, watch, or listen to, I'm sure there's a quote that you love that you could share with me. Perhaps a secret?
