Ummmmmlor

I graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design majoring in Photography with a minor in Printmaking but I've been working in Human Resources for the last 10 years. I'm currently the Human Resources Manager at the Humane Society of West Michigan. Where I've been able to combine the work I'm good at (HR) and my love for animal welfare.

I've been a foster parent for many years to many pups through a wonderful rescue out of Grand Rapids, MI named, Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue (www.rescueofhope.com) and many kitties through the Humane Society of West Michigan (www.hswestmi.org). Working in animal rescue and welfare has been the most rewarding challenge in my life.

My husband and I live on 7 acres of wooded land in West Michigan about 15 minutes from Lake Michigan with our 4 dogs and 7 cats. Our animals are everything to me, so let me tell you about them. :)
- Tessa, the old lady (my everything), is a 13 year old Coonhound mix and often a huge pain in our butt.
- Karlie, is a 5 year old Anatolian Shepherd mix that was rescued from the streets of Beirut, Lebanon and flew the 14+ hours to the US for a new start.
- Silas, my 5 year old Bluetick Coonhound rescue is a lot...and there's no way to summarize what makes him such a special boy.
- Cooper, is my husband's 3 year old, 100lb, Black and Tan Coonhound rescue that still thinks he's a small puppy.
- Betty, is a fluffy, 14 year old grump that loves nothing more than to sleep all day (as cats do).
- Leonard, is maybe around 10 years old. I don't really know because he was a big feral tom cat when I trapped him. He's now a fluffy 15lb lovebug.
- Victor and Vanessa are 6 year old brother and sister pair that enjoy spending their days picking on each other. Victor is a handsome black cat with beautifully striking green eyes and Vanessa is a gorgeous polydactyl tortoiseshell cat with thumbs on her front paws.
- Jack, is a 3 year old gray tabby that came up to Michigan from Louisiana at 4 weeks old on a rescue transport with 60+ other cats and dogs.
- Potato is a year old classic red tabby I started fostering at about two and a half weeks old. He has more energy than any living being has the right to contain.
- Carrot Cake is a month younger than Potato and the cutest red tabby with white socks and mittens. He's a sickly boy with a damaged left eye that is more boy like than any dog in the house.

Things I love and would enjoy on a postcard: art, photography, printmaking, drawing, animals, cats, dogs, antiques or vintage postcards, etc. Honestly though, I'd love just about anything you want to send me. :)

I would love to receive any type of postcard you want to send. It would be nice to get messages but if you don't want to write that is fine as well. It is nice to hear about peoples 'favorites;' favorite food, favorite book, favorite movie, favorite place, e
