Hello!

I live near Portland, Oregon, USA, and am an avid birdwatcher. I recently retired, so I am now privileged to be able to get outdoors to walk and listen to bird songs and to watch their behavior. I'm fortunate to live in a place with a mild climate that enables me to get outside most of the year.

In addition to birding, I enjoy traveling and meeting new people from around the world. So far, I've traveled outside the USA to Mexico, France, Italy, Costa Rica, and Canada. Hopefully, I'll be able to go farther over the next few years.

Family history is also really interesting to me. (I'm still trying to figure out where my great-great grandfather Forsythe came from - Scotland? Ireland?) My maternal grandmother came to America from Denmark when she was 5 years old; on my father's side, there was American Cherokee Indian, German, Scottish and Irish heritage. I'm a true American - a blend of several backgrounds.

Other things I enjoy are music (classical, soft rock, 60's rock), opera, theatre, old movies, and foreign films.

My postcard preferences are those of scenery near your home - what you like to show off to visitors - and any cards with photos of birds in your area.
