Monthly theme for April 2024: Handmade Cards
The 15th of April is World Art Day. I encourage the artists (and wannabe artists) of Postcrossing to share your skills (or lack of skills) with me. If you are so inclined, I'd love to see some of the homemade postcards that you create.

Regularly scheduled profile:

I live in Moorestown, New Jersey (located within Lenapehoking, the ancestral territory of the Lenape People), with my lovely wife. We have three daughters, the youngest is in her last year of high school, the middle one is a nurse in Boston, and the oldest is an immigrant rights advocate in Michigan. We also have two crazy dogs, a bearded dragon, lots of hens (love those fresh eggs), and a rooster that insists on informing us every morning that the sun is rising.

When I’m not at work doing engineering things, I enjoy reading (non-fiction), woodworking, photography, stamp collecting, cooking, and travelling,

As far as what my postcard likes are, well… I hesitate to share. I love discovering new things. If I ask for things I am familiar with, then I discover less. I will share that I have an eccentric personality. My wife often questions my sanity because of it. The weirder the card, the more I tend to enjoy it. Perhaps a good chance to send that card that you never imagined actually sending to anyone.

Last note, many profiles say don't this and don't that. There are no don'ts from me. Every card has a story to tell. Handmade cards are a window to a person's personality. Tourist cards show a country's treasures. Ad cards showcase a countries commerce. None are unwanted

What to write? Just tell me why you chose the card that you did. I find people's card selection processes fascinating. Also, feel free to write in what ever language you are most comfortable. There are great tools I can use that will translate anything.

Thank you and have a joyous day.
