I live in the seaside town of Holywood, about 5 miles from Belfast, in Northern Ireland, with my wife Ann. We have two sons and five grandchrildren. I am a (very) young 75 years old!
Ann and I enjoy travel and have visited the USA, Canada and most of Europe. We like to travel around our lovely country of Ireland and enjoy eating out.
My hobbies are Woodturning, model enginering, model trains, aviation and stamp collecting.
I am retired after 34 years as a Company Director in my printing company. I like cards with views of your country and any with trains especially on them. I also like vintage cards and cards with aviation themes or postage stamp themes as well.
I have had a lifelong interest in aviation and got my PPL (Private Pilot's Licence) many years ago and was the first person in N. Ireland to get his Hot Air Balloon pilot's licence. I was in a group which flew their own hot air balloon - great fun.
I also drive a 7 1/4" scale live steam train at our Model Enginering site at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, Cultra near Holywood. My profile photo shows me on my replica of a 1903 Curved Dash Oldsmobile (American) car which I constructed over a 5 year period in my home model engineering home workshop.
I am currently building a fairly large 'N' gauge model railway layout in my purpose built engine
shed.
