About Eric...
Greetings from Chicago! I am very happy about this opportunity to communicate with people from around the world. I like postcards and have many blank ones which I have acquired over the years. I am pleased to send some of those postcards out to greet people.
My residence is just north of the City of Chicago, near the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. I am 51 years old, married, and presently unemployed. My only language, unfortunately, is English. I have a variety of interests. I will list some of them below, in no particular order. But my interests are not limited to those listed here — I am interested in practically everything.
I like both reading and writing. Some things I enjoy reading are literature, mysteries and true crime stories, history, and philosophy. I also appreciate music, both listening to recordings and attending live performances. I like many styles of music. A few of the musical styles I focus on are classical symphonic, jazz and big band, country, contemporary avant-garde, movie soundtracks, electronics, ambient, early and baroque, and rock — especially punk rock. But that is by no means a complete list. Living in Chicago is great for a person who likes music because there are many excellent performances here, throughout the year, from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to many smaller groups.
I also enjoy plays and other theatrical performances. Here again, we are fortunate to have many opportunities to attend both professional and student performances here in Chicago.
Another thing I enjoy is fitness and exercise — chiefly, weightlifting in the gym. I also like walking and running, outdoors when the weather is good, or on the treadmill when it is not. When I am exercising, I often listen to audiobooks, educational courses, and podcasts.
Finally, I very much enjoy good food and drink. Most often, I go to restaurants rather than doing my own cooking. I appreciate the cuisine and drink of many different countries. I try to eat healthy food as much as possible — but not always.
I like to receive absolutely any type of postcards — classic, quirky, unusual, colorful, tasteful, anything is good! I am always happy to receive cards in envelopes, also. Thank you!
