About Sonali...
It's always fun to find a letter or a postcard waiting for me when I open my mailbox. Postcrossing to me is about making connections with people from all over the world. Please do write me a detailed message about whatever interests you. I look forward to reading it and getting to know you. I always reply back to the postcards I receive when I register them.
I love reading books, and I feel lucky to have books around me everywhere I turn. I belong to three book clubs that read entirely different types of books, which is always fun.
I have kept a journal of various types for more than two decades now. I enjoy taking writing classes and reading books on writing to spur my thinking in different directions. I am just beginning my journey into art journaling, despite having no background in art.
I love spending time at the beach, watching the water, listening to the sound of the waves, and feeling the sun on my face. I feel lucky to live in a place where I am not too far from this view. I also enjoy walking along streams and rivers or sitting and looking at lakes in peace and tranquility.
I love hiking through lush green forests and breathing in the fresh, fragrant pine-scented air. I enjoy going on walks in gardens full of flowers and various botanical plants. I belong to a tree society whose mission is urban proliferation of trees.
My favorite animal is the brilliant, kind, gentle elephant.
My absolute favorite place to visit is England. I consider myself an Anglophile.
Places I dream of visiting in the future are: Himalayan regions of India and Himalayan countries including Tibet (ancient) & Bhutan, Cambodia (Angkor Wat), Lapland, Silk Route in Central Asia, Jordan (Petra & Wadi Rum), Iran (Isfahan, Shiraz & Persepolis), Morocco (Ouarzazate & Marrakech), Kenya (Masai Mara & Sheldrick Wildlife Trust), and Tanzania (Olduvai Gorge & Ngorongoro).
My other hobbies include studying philosophy, illuminated medieval manuscripts, and the history of the British Isles. I enjoy singing in choirs, doing yoga, participating in spiritual workshops, visiting museums, and attending music concerts, theater performances, author talks, and lectures.
I am happy to receive all sorts of postcards, except those with erotic, pornographic, violent, or hate-filled objects and themes and messages.
Looking forward to receiving your postcard.
