About ReaderChris...

I retired from teaching (4th and 5th grade) three years ago - and have moved from southern Arizona to south/central Pennsylvania, but have spent most of my life on an island off the coast of Maine. I've found the perfect job as an assistant librarian in the Youth Services section of the local library!

I love to read, quilt, embroider (especially on wool), knit, explore, letterbox, work on my genealogy, drink ice-cold Diet Coke, and travel. I had a small vegetable garden for the first time this summer, and loved watching the plants grow (and eating them when they were grown!)

Cards I especially enjoy:
artwork that includes books and/or reading (not so much photos, but if it's unique or quirky I'll love it)
cemeteries, gravestones & the like (I love history and primary sources)
Day-of-the-Dead, sugar skulls
cool doorways and/or windows
interesting bridges
jackalopes
humor
penguins are pretty cool
Inge Look and Virpi Pekkala from FINLAND
KARIN LINDESKOV Andersen from GERMANY
anything with old ladies...especially if they're funny
map postcards
postallove "Greetings From..." cards (I have China, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Romania, Poland, UK, Philippines, Taiwan, India, Austria, Bavaria, Czech Republic, Canada, Finland, Hungary, South Korea, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Serbia, New Zealand and Slovakia. I also have Beijing, Longmen Grottos, Shanghai, and Tumpat.)
I would LOVE to have a Gotochi card from Japan
If you're from the UK, Sweden, Turkey, the Middle East, or Africa, I'd love cards that show local way-of-life or culture.

If you don't have any of the above handy, I also enjoy single-view postcards (PLEASE NO MULTI-VIEWS) of your community or country, giving me a feel for the area, whether it's in the US or abroad. (I'd rather not get cards that show famous buildings, though - I've received a lot of those and they're all starting to look alike!)

(I'm not so crazy about cutesie cards, pet-type animals, famous buildings, or religious points-of-view. Religious buildings and wild animals, however, are okay and GREAT.)

Tell me about the card, tell me about yourself, describe things you love. What's your favorite season? Please don't just write "Happy Postcrossing!".... I want to know about YOU.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
