About ReaderChris...

I retired from teaching (4th and 5th grade) six years ago - and have moved from southern Arizona to south/central Pennsylvania, but have spent most of my life on an island off the coast of Maine. I'm now a school librarian in a private K-8 school here in the town where I live. My DREAM job!

I love to read, quilt, knit, explore, letterbox, work on my genealogy, drink ice-cold Diet Coke, and travel. I love houseplants, flowers, trees, birds, and WILD animals. I'm not a pet lover.

Cards I especially enjoy:
penguins
Day-of-the-Dead, sugar skulls
cool doorways and/or windows
interesting bridges
jackalopes
humor
Inge Look and Virpi Pekkala from FINLAND
KARIN LINDESKOV Andersen from GERMANY
anything with old ladies...especially if they're funny

I would LOVE to have a Gotochi card from Japan

****If you're from the UK, Sweden, Turkey, the Middle East, or Africa, I'd particularly love cards that show local way-of-life or culture.

If all else fails:
anything that is unique to your country, area, or culture
artwork that includes books and/or reading (not so much photos, but if it's unique or quirky I'll love it)
interesting cemeteries, gravestones & the like (I love history and primary sources)

If you don't have any of the above handy, I also enjoy single-view postcards (PLEASE NO MULTI-VIEWS) of your community or country, giving me a feel for the area, whether it's in the US or abroad. (I'd rather not get cards that show famous buildings, though - I've received a lot of those and they're all starting to look alike!)

(I'm NOTso crazy about cutesie cards, pet-type animals, famous buildings, or religious points-of-view. Religious buildings and wild animals, however, are GREAT.)

Tell me about the card, tell me about yourself, describe things you love. What's your favorite season? Please don't just write "Happy Postcrossing!".... I want to know about YOU.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
