About Barbara...

I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the USA, San Diego, CA. If you ever get to visit, come in the autumn. The sunsets are spectacular !I am a retired educator, I just recently completed eight years (two terms) on our local school board. I have been a widow for two years now and I still so miss my husband and best friend of 28 years. For the past 18 months, I have been taking care of my son who just lost his battle with colo-rectal cancer. He passed away in July,2021.My entire lifestyle has been upended so I am going through a major lifestyle change. With the ongoing pandemic, like so many others my lifestyle has been drastically altered. Postcrossing (I have been a member since 2015) continues to bring me joy.
I am getting back to my volunteer work and service organizations.I have recently been afforded a new opportunity which brings joy to my heart. I am part of a trio who performs at health care centers for the elderly. It has brought a new direction into my life. I love to read especially biographies and memoirs. I also love movies. Thank goodness we have streaming services !
Many of us here in the USA are so happy to have a new administration in the White House . Joseph Biden and Kamala Harris will bring hope and dignity back to our world!
In regards to my preferences for postcards:
Anything with trivia
Children
Angels
Flora of all kinds
Seasonal Cards
Vintage
Art Deco
Christianity/Bible Verses
These are only suggestions. I am happy and always excited to see what a fellow Postcrosser picks for me. I feel it is rude when others say "Don't send me such and such". Just state your preferences. It is so much nicer to be kind.
Here's to a Happy, healthy 2021!

For USA Postcrossers : Please join us in sending a postcard to the Stamp Advisory Committee. So many countries have beautiful stamps that honor Postcrossing. Why not us ?
