About Karen...

Hello!

For the last four years I collected cards for my mother's 85th, 86th and 87th, 88th and 89th birthdays. She loves this tradition and is so impressed that people from all over the world, people who don't know her, would care to wish an old lady Happy Birthday. So, I will do it again for her 90th! Her name is Shirley and her birthday is October 15, and I am gathering now. She likes elephants, bears, bobcats, wildflowers and photography. A typical tourist card is also appreciated as it shows where it came from. Anything is awesome. Let me know if you would like to send her a card and I will give you my address.

I recently changed my username from SissyLee to Pangolin as I want to raise awareness for the world's most trafficked animal. Only about 8% of the world knows what a pangolin is and these gentle and unique creatures are blinking out -- all 8 species are highly endangered. As an acupuncturist who understands that these unique beings are being slaughtered for bogus Chinese medicinal cures, I feel I must take a stand. But then, I stand for protecting all animals and oppressed beings.
I love to play my harp for my animals.
All animals and nature, reading, hiking, playing my harp and working in my garden bring me happiness.
I have a little dog, two elderly cats, two hamsters, two gerbils, a mouse, a chinchilla, and a rabbit, all rescues. They are the joy of my life, along with my partner of 35 years.
Any kind of card is welcomed, but if you need ideas, I love those of your country's animals (any -- mammal, reptile, birds, bugs, wild, domestic), nature, music themes, weird, unwanted, ugly and vintage cards. Home-made and decorated cards are appreciated! Go wild! I will love anything you send!
That said, please avoid any cards of miserable or abused animals or people.
If you have animals or play music, feel free to tell me your animal friend's name, what music you like or what instrument you might play. If you like to hike or walk, share what kind of places you enjoy, be they wild or urban.
A great big thank you for all those who sent postcards for my mother's 89th birthday this year. She was so happy to receive these greetings from all over the world.
If anyone would like to send her a card for no reason other than to say hi, let me know. I will send her address.
