Here are some hints (not exhaustive list by any means )in no particular order:

*old
*bizarre (things that fall off the normal categories)
*cold/ness, alienation (in expression or landscape)
*ruins, waste, objects out of place in nature
*black and white photography (ex. http://www.postcrossing.com/postcards/TW-755227). OR some classics such as Diane Arbus, Robert Mapplethorpe.
*art (contemporary, baroque, woodcut graphic, Bruegel, James Ensor, Otto Dix)
*city or urban landscape, but not tourist sites (also American (or other countries') suburbs, especially 'model' ones).
*architectural sketches or plans; maps
*street art
*chemistry, biology, medicine - any science (laboratories, formulas, schemes)
*body, body-modification
*books, bookstores, libraries
*literary figures
*home-made, DIY, and interesting free-cards are welcome.

I would like to hear about the book you are reading or have read last; or something unusual that happened to you; or some questions that are puzzling you; or whatever you want to say, of course. A mere "Happy postcrossing!" feels a little empty, no?
