About Linda...

I feel so lucky to have a job in a dream setting -at the zoo! Like many of my coworkers, I have several different jobs there. My primary job is as Interpretive Staff in the Children's Farms. I work as a laison between the zookeeping staff, animals and guests. I get to help clean and care for the animals and teach guests interesting facts about the rare breeds of farm animals that live in our farms. I also help in the preschool at the zoo as a substitute teacher. Sometimes I help at the reception desk. I get to use my knowledge of animals to go on Zoo Reaches, programs where I will go to schools, libraries or retirement centers and take biofacts, which can include fur, feaathers and bones, and small live animals. I do presentations about various animals, most of which are endangered. This is one of my favorite parts of my job - I LOVE teaching others about animals and how important they are to our lives!
I am married and have a son, a cat and a puppy. We will soon have another young puppy that we are adopting as a rescue. The dogs are Toy Fox Terriers and my family is crazy in love with this breed!
I make dichroic fused glass jewelry and gifts. I learned how to do this after I discovered how beautiful this glasswork is and found a class on how to do it! I have my own kiln and have had many shows here in town to sell my work.
