MoSpinach

My name is Will, I live in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska with my dear wife and loveable dog. Our town is actually about 30 miles west of Lincoln. We might move to Iowa in the summer, but for now we are happy with where we are and what we are doing.

I have many interests, though I don't get to pursue them a lot. I love all kinds of sports, especially baseball, american football, gymnastics, basketball, and rugby. We keep a big garden during the warmer months, managing to eat all of our produce from home for months at a time. We cook a lot, all sorts of food (though I don't like olives, pickles, or spicy food).

I'm hoping to start going to school again for a Ph. D. program in ecology, studying the population and community ecology of small mammals (mice, voles, shrews, etc) in agricultural and prairie landscapes. I love science you could say.

My biggest hobby by far is playing boardgames. Not Monopoly or Risk, mind you, but more in depth games that require a lot of different decisions and factors to consider. Some of my favorites are Dominion, Dixit, Macao, Tzolk'in, Fleet, Through the Ages, Castles of Burgundy, and Hansa Teutonica.

I also enjoy reading biographies, some science fiction (Neal Stephenson and Orson Scott Card), and playing light video games. I just learned how to knit and have made 2 scarves so far. I doubt I'll ever want to make big things like sweaters though.

I love learning anything and everything about new people and places. What is your job? What do you eat regularly? What are some interesting animals or plants in your area? What is something in your life that is very different, perhaps, from my culture? What are the popular sports and teams in your town? Have you ever been to the USA? Where is a place in your country to visit that is not as popular for tourists but is very interesting or exciting nonetheless?
