We live in a Madison, which is the capital city of the state of Wisconsin. It is about 200 km NW of Chicago.

We are a one car family, however, we use our car more than we'd like because our neighborhood is spread out. Even though we live well within the city, the nearest grocery store is almost 2km away. Most people in our neighborhood work at the University of Wisconsin, the WI State government, or technology companies.

I have a legal practice focused on estate planning. I wrote a book encouraging people to be charitable in their wills. I'm into reading, cooking, and gardening. My husband is an electronics engineer working on medical equipment, and he is into electronics and science fiction.

My husband and I have two kids, ages 11 and 9. Most days I walk with the kids to their school, 800 meters away. There is a creek 500 meters away that the kids like to play in. It freezes in the winter. Our kids are into sports, board games, dance, and science. We like to go to the library.

Our family has a travel goal of spending 48 hours in all 50 states of the United States. We also like seeing the rest of the world, whenever we have the chance. States we've visited to-date include: Wisconsin, Florida, Washington State, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Arkansas, Tennessee Ohio, Kentucky, and Missouri. We also have a goal to leave our country once a year. International trips (with the kids) include: southern Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark (2016), Iceland (2017); Panama (2018); and most recently Billund, Denmark and Hamburg, Germany (2019). In 2020 we hope to visit Cape Town, South Africa. Travel suggestions are welcome!
