About Mara...

Hello! My name is Mara, and I love to learn languages and travel. I also read a lot, play piano and listen to music, crochet and knit, do photography and calligraphy, and go for long walks.

Here are some ideas for what to write (a few of these came from other postcrossers – thanks!):
-something you're wondering about
-something that makes you happy
-what you see out your window
-a challenge you or your country is dealing with
-part of your country's history that you're proud of
-a good book you've read or movie you've seen recently
-a picture book you loved when you were little
-lyrics from your favorite song
-some good advice you've been given
-your favorite recipe
-your biggest wish
-the most unusual thing that's happened to you recently
-odd traditions in your country, city, family, etc.
-a dream you had
-draw a picture if you'd like to!

If you happen to have postcards showing any of these specific things, I'd be delighted to receive them:
-something in your language (or your alphabet / writing system)
-stunning nature/landscapes/trees, macro photography
-black and white (or b&w with one spot of color)
-codes and ciphers
-folktales, fairy tales, children's cartoons from your country
-Tolkien's work (The Lord of the Rings, the Silmarillion, etc.)
-old-fashioned things like typewriters, skeleton keys, etc.
-unusual architecture (e.g. Hundertwasser)
-maps, history from your country
-science (brain/cognition, physics, molecular biology, fossils)
