About Mokihana...
I was born and raised in Hawaiʻi, on Oʻahu. I came to the mainland, met a haole boy, and the rest is history. I am on staff at Alohaworld where many of us ex-patriot locals hang out. I love to sing Hawaiian songs in Hawaiian with my friends. I’m a handspinner and love spinning yarn on my spinning wheels. I also love Hawaiian quilting, and you can usually find me with a set of knitting needles in my hands when I'm not doing all the other stuff I do. I play guitar and ‘ukulele. I also love road trips and photography. I’m fluent in Hawaiian Pidgin English, and when I’m excited or upset, everything comes out in pidgin no matter where I am!
I love the Pacific Northwest, including Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Our first road trip to Montana to meet with family I hadn’t seen in years was the highlight of 2009. I fell in love with the state the minute we crossed the border.
I’m a free spirit and love the serendipitous events that bring people and places together. I try really hard to be sensitive and aware of how others are feeling. I am also an out-of-the-box person, a Jesus follower, and a person who loves life, my cats, my husband, and my kids (not necessarily in that order).
I love getting cards from other parts of the world and learning more about the places where people live.
